Pauline L. Hadden, 86, a resident of Stamford, and formerly of Roxbury, died Saturday, Aug.17, 2013 at Robinson Terrace Residential Care Center in Stamford where she had lived since September 2007.
Pauline was born April 2, 1927 in Harpersfield, the daughter of William and Mae (Cronk) Vermilyea. She married Donald L. Hadden on June 23, 1944 at Roxbury. He died April 12, 2013.
Pauline attended schools in South Kortright and Roxbury. She received her LPN training at Fox Hospital in Oneonta. She took nursing classes at the State University College at Delhi. Pauline worked for many years at the Stamford Hospital and at Robinson Terrace.
Pauline was an active member of the Gould Church in Roxbury where she sang in the church choir. She was a past president of the Ladies Guild. She also sang with the Catskill Community Chorale.
She is survived by a son, Donald L. Hadden, Jr. and a granddaughter, Nicole.
Calling hours will be held at the Miller Funeral Home in Roxbury on Friday, Aug. 23, 2013 from 6 until 8 p.m.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013 at the Jay Gould Memorial Reformed Church, Roxbury with the Rev Richard Dykstra officiating.
A committal service will follow at the Roxbury Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Pauline L. Hadden may be made to the Memorial Fund of the Jay Gould Memorial Reformed Church.
