'Paper Works' opens at Roxbury Arts Group
Roxbury — The Roxbury Arts Group invites the public to an artist reception being held on Saturday, Nov. 2 from 4 to 6 p.m. to celebrate the opening of their new exhibit, “Paper Works: Works on Paper From VanDeb Editions.”
The exhibit and reception will take place in the Walt Meade Gallery located in the Roxbury Arts Center at 5025 Vega Mountain Road. Both are free and open to the public. For more information, visit www.roxburyartsgroup.org or call 607 326-7908.
This new exhibit is curated by Deborah Freedman of VanDeb Editions. Marjorie VanDyke and Deborah Freedman founded VanDeb Editions in 1999 sharing a passionate interest in etching and monotype.
VanDyke and Freedman began their association at Robert Blackburn’s Printmaking Workshop in 1987 when Deborah was commissioned to make a suite of etchings. Since then they have worked with 33 artists publishing over 70 editions. Collaborating with Master Printer Marjorie VanDyke, artists add the process of printmaking to their vocabulary, producing works of integrity and superlative production values.
The Roxbury Arts Group is proud to be exhibit the works of these accomplished artists in their gallery in Roxbury. “This is truly a unique and intriguing exhibit of works by artists, some of which have not been exhibited in our region before” says Jenny Rosenzweig, Executive Director of the Roxbury Arts Group. “We thank Deborah Freedman for curating this exhibit for RAG and for providing our community with access to these works.”
The Walt Meade Gallery is locted on the first floor of the Roxbury Arts Center and is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and by appointment.
