Oliver Mattice
Oliver William Mattice, 74, of Cherry Valley, passed away Tuesday, Aug 17, 2010 at Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown.
He was born June 1, 1936 in Blenheim, the son of William and Erma (Hait) Mattice.
Oliver drove truck hauling milk and feed for Carson Stryker and then for Riedl Brothers. He enjoyed hunting, horses and following the New York Yankees.
He had lived in Cherry Valley for the past 10 years, spending most of his life in North Blenheim.
Surviving are two sons, Robert (Vicky Fairbairn) Mattice of North Blenheim and Wayne (Sharon)
Mattice of Vernon Center; a daughter, Jacqueline Mattice of Florida and six grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters, Pauline Carr and Laura Oliver; a brother, Loren Mattice and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21 at the Miller Funeral Home, Roxbury with Pastor Peg Van Siclen officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Grand Gorge. Calling hours will be Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. prior to the service. Arrangements are by Miller Funeral Home, Roxbury.
