Oct. 21, 2009: Why do we pay for poor service?

To The Editor:
Why does 911 have so many problems? On Saturday, Oct. 10, a call came in for an automatic alarm on Dry Brook Road, so 911 toned out Arkville. When they couldn’t find anything they radioed 911 to confirm the address. When 911 responded they said “Dry Brook in the Town of Tompkins.” Well, this is the Town of Middletown. Enhanced 911 is supposed to prevent this from happening. Why do we pay for this if the dispatchers are idiots?
