NYPA reopens Schoharie Creek access

North Blenheim — Public fishing access along a section of the Schoharie Creek has reopened following restoration work to repair shoreline erosion along the creek, just north of the New York Power Authority’s (NYPA) Blenheim-Gilboa Pumped Storage Hydroelectric Power Plant (B-G).
Located off the access road near the B-G plant’s North Gate, and below the lower reservoir dam, the public fishing area was closed to allow workers to rebuild the shoreline.
As of August 1, the remediation work was successfully completed and anglers are welcome to resume fishing in the area. The B-G plant is located on Route 30 seven miles north of Grand Gorge.
