David and Laurie Sherman of Newton, Mass., spent the weekend of July 25 with his mother Blossom Sherman. David returned to Afghanistan the following Wednesday.
John Gessell and his son Andrew of Atlanta, Ga., spent the weekend visiting Andy VanBenschoten and his mother Faye.
Wanda Lanzi joined Barbara Kapitko and relatives and friends at the Café de Paris in Margaretville Wednesday to celebrate Barbara’s birthday. Others attending were Nancy Lutz, Donna Doolittle, Robin Randell, Sarah Kapito, Guy and Barbara Puffer, Kathy Duboveck, Colleen Martin and Toni Smith. Guests of Barbara Kapitko from Tuesday to Thursday were her daughter Nancy Lutz of Goodyear Lake, her nieces Donna and Jim Doolittle of Gainesville, FL, Robin Randell and Sarah Kapitko of Johnsonburg, N.J.; Guy and Barbara Puffer of Andover, N.J. visited Wednesday.
Bill and Betty Elliott hosted the Longo-Elliott reunion over the weekend. Friday several members took the Hudson River boat cruise. Saturday they gathered at the New Kingston Valley Grange Hall. There were about 70 who attended. Bill and Betty’s daughter Mary and Lowell McCormick of New Orleans attended. It was the first in three years she had visited her parents.
New Kingston Valley Grange will meet Thursday night at 6 p.m. for a potluck supper and meeting to follow.
