Mildred C. DeLong, 92, passed away Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011 at Kingston Hospital, Kingston, NY.
She was born June 26, 1919 in Aliquippa, PA, the daughter of Anthony and Veronica (Kubis) Wilczewski.
Mildred was a lifelong resident of the area.
She married Francis DeLong on January 9, 1938 at Pine Island. He died December 23, 1984.
Mildred had been a shipping manager for Audio-Sears in Roxbury and Stamford, retiring after more than 20 years of service to the company.
She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, Margaretville.
Mildred was a person that enjoyed gardening and her flower beds, Western movies, needle work, collectibles and was an avid reader.
Surviving are her children, Veronica Vogt, Rome, NY, Barbara Fairbairn, Margaretville, Juliann Jochim, Ridgefield, CT, Thomas DeLong, Margaretville and Daniel DeLong, Manchester, CT. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and three sisters, Anne Borchert, Hagerstown, MD, Mary Konefal, Levittown, PA and Carol Dikun, Wallington, NJ.
She was predeceased by one brother, Anthony and two sisters, Grace Kanozanin and Theresa Ropple.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 6 at the Sacred Heart Church, Margaretville with Rev. Paul Catena, celebrant. Burial will be in Margaretville Cemetery, Margaretville.
Calling hours will take place at Hynes Funeral Home, Margaretville from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5.
