Margaretville — The Catskill Watershed Corp. (CWC) Board of Directors has a new president.
He is Michael Triolo, supervisor of the Town of Stamford, and former economic development director on the staff of the CWC.
Triolo was unanimously elected to the position by fellow board members, including the outgoing President, Georgianna Lepke. The Sullivan County representative has sold her home in Neversink and is relocating to Florida.
During the 1990s, Lepke participated in the negotiations for the NYC Watershed Memorandum of Agreement that led to creation of the CWC in 1997. She has been intimately involved with Watershed policy making as a member of the CWC Board since its inception.
Delaware County representative Jim Eisel called Lepke “an outstanding asset to this corporation.” NYC representative Jeffrey Graf praised her “grace, dignity and balance,” and environmental representative Deborah Dewan thanked the outgoing president for the “great gift of her leadership.”
Triolo was on the CWC staff from 2003 until his retirement in 2012. He was elected to the CWC Board by Delaware County Watershed town supervisors in April of that year. Following his elect ion as president last week, Triolo remarked, “I will have to fill some huge shoes. If I can do half the job Georgie’s done, I’ll be happy. And if at any point I lose sight of the fact that this is a regional organization, representing and helping people in Delaware, Sullivan, Schoharie, Greene and Ulster counties, you let me know.”

Solid choice
Rich Parete from Ulster County commented that, “Mike has the respect and admiration of everyone.” Said Wayne Marshfield of Delaware County, “Mike’s the most experienced of anyone on this board, he knows the programs inside and out, and is a good fit for the organization.”
The CWC is a non-profit, local development corporation responsible for several environmental protection, economic development and education programs in the New York City Watershed West of the Hudson River. Its board of directors meets the first Tuesday of every month at 1 p.m. at the corporation’s offices, 905 Main St., Margaretville. Agendas and minutes can be found at www.cwconline.org.
