Mayor says enough is enough

To The Editor:
Winter is here and spring is just around the corner. March is less than just two months away and with it comes another Margaretville village election. I have decided not to seek reelection this year. After serving five terms in office, I have decided enough is enough. It has been a pleasure serving the people in the Village of Margaretville, but it is time to move on.

I’m quite proud of my record and accomplishments, even though some people out there question my ability as a leader. I know that it is impossible to please everyone, but I represent all the people, not just a few who have their own personal agendas.

I want to thank all those who have supported me over the years and thank those who have their opinions.

We must remember; in order to keep the village vibrant, and to advance the economic vitality of the village, and to promote a better economic business, and to provide a village as a better place to live and work, we must all work together.

In closing, I thank the downtown businesses for all their hard work in the recovery of August 11, 2011. Hang in and be one for the good of the community.
May God bless you.

Mayor Bill Stanton,
Margaretville
