Maxine Hanley, 83, of Rosa Road, Arkville, passed away Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011 at her residence, which would have been her 65th wedding anniversary.
She was born July 19, 1928 at Kelly Corners, the daughter of Garner and Hilda (Trowbridge) Whipple.
She married Robert L. Hanley on November 17, 1946 in Arkville. He died April 11, 1996.
Maxine had worked at Kass Inn and then for over 35 years was employed at Margaretville Hospital and Mountainside Care Center. For many years she was the supervisor in the housekeeping and laundry department.
She enjoyed camping with her husband, Bob and also like to sew and knit.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Ellen Hanley; a daughter, Willa DeSilva; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her mother and father and stepfather, George Todd and baby Sharon.
Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20 at the Hynes Funeral Home, Margaretville with Pastor Robert Engelhardt, officiating.
Calling hours were held 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19 at the funeral home.
Committal services will be held at Sanford Cemetery, Margaretville at a later date.
Donations in memory of Maxine may be made to the Heart of the Catskills Humane Society, Rte. 10, Delhi.
