Marjorie Lutz

Marjorie “Marge” Marion Lutz, 82, of Oneonta, formerly of Roxbury, died Friday, June 4, 2010.
She was born in Endicott on July 14, 1927, the daughter of William and Marion Webster.
She graduated from the Amityville High School, Amityville, in 1945. She graduated from Ithaca College with a degree in music in 1949. She was a member of Sigma Alpha Iota.
Marge married Richard Lutz on Oct. 26, 1952.
She taught music in Roxbury Central School from 1949 to 1954. She was always very proud of the fact that she inspired many of her students to go on and study music.
Marge was the choir director at the Roxbury Methodist Church for 29 years. She also taught many of the local children how to swim.
She helped form the Lutz Feed Company Inc. in November 1958.
Marge was a member of the Roxbury Methodist Church, Catskill Choral Society and Eastern Star.
She will always be remembered for her beautiful singing voice and ability to tell a good joke.
Surviving are her husband, Richard Lutz and their two sons, Steven (and Nancy) Lutz and Robert (and Stephanie) Lutz and four grandchildren, Sarah, Blake, Kurt and Nicholas.
She was predeceased by her brother, William Webster in 1995.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 12 at the Roxbury Methodist Church, Roxbury, with the Rev. Richard Dykstra and Pastor Peg Van Siclen, officiating.
Inurnment will be held at a later date in Saratoga National Cemetery, Saratoga.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Marge Lutz Memorial Scholarship Fund, Roxbury Central School, 53729 state Highway 30, Roxbury, N.Y. 12474.
