Margaretville hosts Street Fair Saturday, Aug. 29

Margaretville – The 23rd Annual Street Fair will be held on Saturday, Aug. 29 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Main Street in Margaretville.
This popular summertime event features vendors offering quilted crafts and fabric items lovingly made, designer sterling silver jewelry, hard to find antiques and collectibles, ever popular country lawn decorations, wooden crafts, stoneware and pottery, handbags and sunglasses, clothing and accessories. Every Main Street retail business is open and many have moved their specialties out onto Main Street. Foothills Shoes, Discoveries Antiques and Collectibles, Sweet Peas for children and the Catskill Mountain Artisans Guild will entice you with some of their specialty items.
Community organizations offer bake sales, raffles and the library will have used books for sale. The Heart of the Catskills Humane Society will feature a handmade queen sized quilt raffle. Displays by the Town of Middletown Historical Society, and stop by and make your very own original hat design using newspaper under the artistic direction of members of the Catskill Mountain Christian Church.
The Central Catskills Chamber will feature a cauliflower sale promoting its upcoming 7th annual Cauliflower Festival to be held in the village on Saturday, Sept. 26. Seasonal events and where to go information is available everyday at the chamber’s tourism information booth on Main Street.
Get ready for winter fun and learn about the two area ski centers located in the Central Catskills region. Representatives from Plattekill Ski Mountain and Belleayre Mountain will be providing detailed information on the upcoming season.
