Luthier and health counselor to open shop in Margaretville

Longtime summer residents Lenore and Ronald Bake have recently rented the premises at 812 Main Street to house their respective businesses.
Ron Blake is a luthier who for the past 30 years has built, repaired and restored stringed instruments. He has marketed much of his work through Word Class Guitars, and Ed Roman Guitars, a Las Vegas retail store where he worked on guitars for such notables as Ted Nugent, Les Claypool, Leslie West and Paul Crook. He has been the chief luthier for their custom-made guitar line. Now he would like to bring his line of custom guitars and basses to the Catskill area where he hopes to spend more of his time. He will also carry vintage guitars and accessories in the shop.
Lenore Blake is a certified holistic health counselor. She holds a master’s degree in counseling from St. Joseph College and certification from Teachers College, Columbia University and The Institute for Integrative Nutrition.
Her health counseling program is highly individualized to aid people in finding the food and lifestyle choices which will help them to achieve optimum health and a more energized balanced life. Blake will also carry a line of whole food products such as vegan baking mixes, whole grain cereals and other products to help people enjoy a more wholesome lifestyle.
The couple plan to open for business in May. A “grand opening” celebration will take place on Saturday, May 26 with live music and free food.
