Lois M. (Ruff) Thompson of Hendersonville, North Carolina, died Saturday, April 5, 2008 in her home, surrounded by her family and loved ones.
She was born in Walton to the late Reginald and Dorothy Ruff.
After graduating from high school in Andes, she moved to Florida where she attended and later graduated from the Hollywood College of Beauty Culture.
She married Allen D. Thompson of Huntington.
Lois and Allen settled on Long Island after Allen was discharged from the United States Air Force. In 1984 Lois and her family moved to Henderson County, North Carolina. Lois spent the next 22 years working as a hair dresser for McCrary‚Äôs Hairstyling and later Pat‚Äôs Hair Designers.
Surviving are her husband of nearly 41 years, Allen, and their three daughters, Stephanie and her husband, David Shelton of Etowah, NC, Debbie and her husband, Stephen Walker of Hendersonville, NC and Jessica and her husband, James Gibbs of Hendersonville, NC. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Allison, Christina and Michael Shelton and Brooke and Karley Walker.
Lois was the youngest of five children and was preceded in death by her brother, Bob and is survived by two sisters, Alma and Linda and her brother, Phil. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
