Kool Kamp at Pine Hill
Pine Hill — The Pine Hill Community Center (PHCC) will launch a new free summer children’s program for children ages 6-12. The program, Kool Kamp for Kool Kids, will offer a variety of arts, crafts, nature and games every Thursday and Friday beginning on July 11 and going through August 30.
Camp Director Francesca Warnes of Shandaken is a jewelry artist, mother of two sons, outdoors person and an innovative and experienced youth leader. She also participates in an after school program, Kool School, at the Phoenicia Elementary School.
There will be two sessions each day, a morning session from 10:33 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and an afternoon session from 2 to 4 p.m. The same activity will be offered at both sessions, but children are welcome to attend both.
The goal is to provide both creative and physical activities for a fully-rounded program that should appeal to all children. The Pine Hill Park is newly restored, and the programs will us it, weather permitting, for many of the Friday activities. Pine Hill has many beautiful walking trails for some nature exploration.
No pre-registration is required, and children can attend any of the sessions they choose. Always dress for the weather and for comfort. If the weather is bad, Friday games and sports will take place in the Center. The Community Center will be the registration and start-out venue each day.
Starting on July 20, Kid Stuff will present a five-week circus arts magic program with Hannabelle the Clown.
