Kenneth Alton Hoyt, 71, of Grand Gorge died on November 2, 2012 at Fox Hospital in Oneonta after a long and courageous battle with COPD.
He was born February 6, 1941 in the Town of Canajoharie, the son of Elmer and Mabel (Tansey) Hoyt.
Ken was a dairy farmer most of his life until his illness forced him to retire. He was a big fan of the Cleveland Browns football team and the Dodgers and White Sox baseball teams. He was a big fan of NASCAR and he loved to watch the ponies at the Saratoga Race Track.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Janet (Duncan) Hoyt and his children and their spouses, Ken and Marie Hoyt, Sheri and Tim Baldwin, Kevin Hoyt, Lisa Hoyt and companion Albert VanDyke, Lori Hoyt, and Julie Hoyt. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, three great grand children, four sisters, and one brother.
He was predeceased by his parents, two sisters and one brother.
Ken will be remembered by his family for his love, his smile, and most of all his strength, which he had enough of to pass on a little to all of them.
Funeral services will be private.
