Jimmy DiGiacomo Auction on Sunday benefits Community Christmas Project

Fleischmanns — The Jimmy DiGiacomo Auction to benefit the Community Christmas Project, scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 6, starting at 4 p.m. at LaCabana Restaurant in Fleischmanns promises a lively evening for young and old.
Those in attendance will dine on a sumptuous buffet, dance to tunes served up by Wendy Neif and Friends, bid on a range of items donated by local businesses and maybe take home a bargain or two.
Handmade items from local artisans, special packages featuring local cultural activities and a five-burner stainless steel Frigidaire stove from Jaquish Appliances, head the list for guest auctioneers Dorothy Maffei and Tony Lanza. Other items will be up for grabs to those in the know; that is, door prizes will go to those who know a little local history.
A silent auction affords even more opportunities to contribute to a worthy cause and pick up holiday specials. The $25 entrance fee includes a buffet meal and bidding paddle. Advance sales are recommended; $30 fee at door.
All proceeds from the event benefit the Community Christmas Project. The Community Christmas Project is a grass-roots organization that provides food, clothing and holiday cheer to those in need throughout the area.
Doors open for viewing and cocktails at 4 p.m. A buffet dinner will be served from 5:30 p.m. and offers an assortment that includes: Chicken Marsala, Fajitas, tacos, Quesadillas and chimichangas, plus side dishes, such as, rice and beans, mashed potatoes, green beans and salad. Dessert will feature homemade treats from area cooks.
Advance ticket purchases can be made at NBT Bank, E & D Spirit Shop, LaCabana Restaurant and from Aggie Laub, 254-4299. $30 at the door.
