Irish Comedy Night Saturday at Andes Hotel

in

Andes — NYC Comics return by popular demand on March 13 at 7:30 p.m. to The Andes Hotel performing stand-up comedy. Joanne Genelle returns as MC with a show featuring two fabulous comics, Nanci Richards and Mary Dimino, performing their witty content with some Irish jokes mixed in.
Joanne has a vast amount of experience performing in theater in shows such as “Paper Doll” with Marlo Thomas and F. Murray Abraham, and her one woman show “Joanne Genelle the Belle From Hell (if it’s not one thing...it’s your mother), as well as film, including “Tony & Tina’s Wedding,” television including “Law & Order,” commercials and, of course, stand up comedy at “Stand UP NY,” “Caroline’s,” “Don’t Tell Mama,” “The Knitting Factory” and “New York Comedy Club.”
Mary Dimino is a bundle of hilarious contradictions; with an angelic smile and a tough, New York-Italian attitude, she tells it like it is. Her sweet face coupled with her energetic delivery makes Mary a favorite with comedy club audiences and won her a spot in the Final Event of the prestigious “Ladies of Laughter” competition at Caesar’s Palace in Atlantic City. Her comedy act has been featured on Comedy Central’s Short Attention Span Theater, Stand-Up Stand-Up and VH-1.
Mary’s special charisma with audiences was also noticed by international icon, Graham Norton, who requested Mary to be his warm-up act for his Comedy Central series, “The Graham Norton Effect.”
Nanci Richards adds a touch of class to Staten Island or a touch of trash to Manhattan, depending on the way you look at it. Either way, it makes for laughter when Nanci performs her blue-collar-but-book-smart show at comedy clubs throughout the northeast. Raised amid endless rows of nail salons, beeper and bagel stores, and one big famous dump, Nanci Richards reeks of Staten Island, the forgotten borough of the Guidos, Guidettes and her nervewracking family. Nanci’s humorous life as a single woman in her 40s, includes her young at heart grandma who drinks shots of Pepto Bismol with gin. Add to this Nanci’s vocation as a New York City public schoolteacher and her stories will make you lose your tenure. In 2009 she won the Ha Penney Audience Favorite award in Dublin, Ireland.
Cover charge is $10 at the door.  Corned beef and cabbage and the full dinner and tavern menus will be available before and during the show.  For more information or to make reservations, please contact The Andes Hotel by telephone at 845 676-3980.
