'Images of America' sought for a historic Roxbury book

Roxbury — Roxbury Town Historian Anthony Liberatore is asking the public for help in compiling a Town of Roxbury history book that he hopes will be published through the “Images of America” series.
Liberatore is asking Roxbury residents to loan him old photos or postcards of locations in Roxbury that he can copy/scan for inclusion in the book.

The book will contain photos and post cards with a short caption under each image. Liberatore told the News that he’s looking for older photos and postcards of the Town of Roxbury including images of Roxbury, Grand Gorge, the Denver/Vega Valley and also upper Thompson Hollow and that part of Redkill, which is in the Town of Roxbury. He’s particularly interested in old farm pictures as well as photos or postcards of houses, businesses, one-room schoolhouses, railroads and events like parades, fairs, fires and skiing.

Liberatore can be contacted at wildthymefarm@gmail.com or by calling or 607 326-7957.
