Hospital, MRCC workers honored with service awards
By Brian Sweeney
More than 30 staff received awards at the 39th annual Margaretville Hospital and Mountainside Residential Care Center Employee Recognition Dinner on October 22.
Barbara Dabritz, who is a Certified Nurse Assistant, had the most longevity of the staff honored, as she was marking her 40th anniversary working at the hospital.
In presenting the Employee Recognition Award to Barbara, Director of Human Resources Linda Mead stated, “Barbara recalls with love the names of the residents she’s cared for over the years; and oh the stories she can tell. She’s a wonderful mentor. She spoils all the patients, making sure they have everything they need and has a knack for getting them to do the things they don’t want to but have to; to improve. She always has a smile and a cheerful ‘can do’ attitude. Barb is friendly to all and a pleasure to know.”
Pat Delameter, director of ambulance services, was honored for her 30 years of service with the ambulance department.
Making this award presentation Mrs. Mead noted that, “Pat was named Delaware County EMS Educator of the Year in 2011. She is responsible for our Emergency Management Plan and has worked hard to maintain this plan to meet all regulatory changes and requirements. She has taken the lead role in several local disasters including Hurricane Irene. Pat has wonderful rapport with hospital staff, local agencies, Delaware County and New York State EMS. She is an integral part of our team at Margaretville Hospital.”
