Holiday parade returns to Margaretville; participants sought

Margaretville — Whether you are involved with a community organization, a merchant in the region, a tourism related facility, scout troop, or a skilled crafter, there is no better place to showcase your commodities than on a float at the second annual Holiday Parade as it returns to Margaretville’s Main Street with an unparalled pageantry of holiday and community spirit. This fanfare of floats and marchers begins at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 28.
The renowned lineup includes a variety of floats that showcases our vibrant villages and lively holiday themes. Post parade festivities are plentiful with a tree lighting ceremony at 5 p.m. at the pavilion and horse-drawn carriages transporting spectators from the pavilion to Main Street and back as activities will be abundant at both locations. Photos with Santa, Music on Main, caroling, shopping specials, food, friends and fun are all a part of this “kick off” to the holiday season. From a warming cup of cocoa to a specially postmarked letter to the North Pole, there is no better place to embrace the magic of the holidays with old-fashioned charm and community energy at the second annual Holiday Parade.
Lauren Quarltere, originator of the event says, “We want people to capture the magic of the holidays. We also look forward to working with Main Street merchants and community organizations to expand this year’s post parade activities. It is a perfect opportunity to support the businesses that support the community the rest of the year,” added Quarltere.
There will be no charge to enter floats in the parade. Parade organizers are delighted to see any and all participating businesses and organizations get involved in the fun and animated display of holiday pomp. Info: 586-4689 or log onto www.holidaytreasure
