Henrietta K. Farber, 84, of Wellington, Fla., and Margaretville, died Monday, Sept. 22, 2008 at Benedictine Hospital, Kingston. She was born March 26, 1924 in Manhattan, the daughter of Max and Sadie (Ginder) Kass. She married Al Farber on December 12, 1948 at Kass Inn, Margaretville.
Henrietta was one of the owners and managers of the family operated Kass Inn, a well-known inn in the Catskill Mountains. Through her love for the area she convinced many people to locate in the Margaretville area.
She also enjoyed playing golf, bridge and was an avid reader.
She was very active in community projects with her work with the MARK-project and the Hospital Auxiliary. She was a hard worker for the Kass Inn and the community she loved. She retired from her work at the inn when it was sold in 1989.
Surviving are her husband, Al Farber; a daughter and son-in-law, Dena and Greg Scibilia. She adored her four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, nieces, nep-hews and cousins.
A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 25 at the Congregation Bnai Cemetery, Fleischmanns with Rabbi Evan Jaffe officiating.
Donations may be made in memory of Henrietta K. Farber to the American Cancer Society.
