Helping to rebuild Prattsville

To The Editor:
Oh behalf of the Prattsville Housing Committee I would like to thank everyone who made our “Housing Expo & Home Improvement Show” on March 3 a huge success. Fifty-five vendors specializing in all phases of building, rebuilding and remodeling were on hand to greet over 200 guests. We gave away eight door prizes and there were numerous vendor giveaways as well.

A special thank you to GNH Lumber who generously donated to the housing committee to help with expenses for the expo. Thanks to Timberline Printing; Joe Loverro and WRIP; and Smyth CID Pottery for making “Prattsville” mugs and donating half of the proceeds to the housing committee’s resource center. Thank you to the Prattsville Hose Company for allowing us to use their space and to Kristin Tompkin’s art classes at Gilboa Conesville Central School for decorating our firehouse walls with beautiful art work. And a big thank you to all of our volunteers who helped prepare, set up, greet and break down for the expo.

Upcoming fund-raising events for the Prattsville Housing Committee include a benefit dinner and auction in July and a 5K recovery run in September. We hope you can join us for another great time!

Together, through the efforts of so many, we will continue to move forward as we rebuild Prattsville, one neighbor at a time.
