Goldia Banks, 82, of Grand Gorge, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at her residence.
She was born March 23, 1927 in Worcester, the daughter of Marvin and Anna (Scott) Banks. She never married.
Goldia worked at the Greendell Meat Packing Co. in Prattsville, from the age of 17, until the business closed. She was also a butcher at the veal packing business in Bloomville and had worked in the kitchen at Hunter Mountain Ski Bowl.
Goldie enjoyed baking cookies and fishing.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Dawn Banks of Howes Cave; her companion for more than 30 years, Donald F. Herdman of Grand Gorge; a sister, Laura Buel of Florida and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Friday, July 24, at the Miller Funeral Home, Roxbury, with the Rev. Richard A. Dykstra officiating.
Burial is in Fairlawn Cemetery, Prattsville.
