Gary (Bucky) DuMond, 77, a resident of Hubbell Corners, Roxbury, died Wednesday Nov. 20, 2013 at Albany Medical Center.
Bucky was born March 4, 1936 in Vega, the son of Norman and Louise (Constable) DuMond.
He married Sharon Rice on June 1, 1960 in Scranton, PA.
Bucky worked for the Town of Roxbury Highway Department for 18 years, retiring in 1998. He had also worked at Plattekill Ski Center. Presently he was the caretaker for the Charles Muller property in the Vega Valley.
Gary was a member of the Jay Gould Reformed Church.
He loved his grandchildren and each one was special to him. Bucky enjoyed horse shows and watching high school sports.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon DuMond; daughters, Cynthia Deyo, Kelly DuMond, Donna (Glen Cole) DuMond, David (Sheryl) DuMond and Daniel DuMond and a brother and sister in law, Gilbert and Bertha DuMond. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grand children and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours were held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 22, 2013 at the Miller Funeral Home, Roxbury.
A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013 at the Jay Gould Memorial Reformed Church, Roxbury. The Rev. Richard Dykstra officiated.
A committal service was held at the Bedell Cemetery in Fleischmanns.
