Free rabies clinics planned

The Delaware County Public Health service will hold free rabies vaccination clinics for dogs, cats and ferrets in the villages of Fleischmanns and Andes on April 24 and May 8, respectively. The Fleischmanns clinic will take place Friday, April 24 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Fleischmanns Firehall. The Andes clinic will take place Friday, May 8 at the Andes Firehall Pavilion from 5 to 7 p.m.
Cats and dogs are eligible for their first rabies vaccines at three months of age; by law, every dog and cat must be vaccinated against rabies by four months of age. Pets must be confined while at the clinic.
In order for a pet to receive a vaccine that is good for three years, owners must bring proof of a previous vaccine.
