Free puppet show Thursday at Andes

Andes — The Andes Library will host a free Kids Project Puppet Show on Thursday, Sept. 3 at 6 p.m.
The Kids Project show is a disability awareness program featuring kid-size puppets. The puppets interact directly with the audience, answering questions, telling stories, relating kid-to-kid. Children can talk about anything they are curious about with their new puppet “friends.” Sign language and storytelling may also be used in the presentation. The puppeteer adapts each presentation to meet the needs of each individual audience - large, small, kid, adult - for a unique fun learning experience.  The program strives to leave the message that it is okay to be different.  It also demonstrates that even though we are all different on some level, more importantly, we are all alike too.
The Kids Project is funded by the New York State Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities.
This program is free and open to the public.  For more info, call the library at 676-3333.
