Frank Theodore Myers, 71, of Andes, went to be home with the Lord on Friday, March 13, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born Feb. 9, 1938 in the Bronx, the son of Frederick and Julia (Geidel) Myers.
He married Marcella Krom in 1960. They moved to Mahopac in 1962. In 1977 Frank relocated his family from Mahopac, building their home in Andes. A self-taught auto mechanic with a lifelong interest in cars, he opened Frank’s Automotive Garage, Andes, in 1982.
He married Cheryl French Hall on November 15, 1990 at the Assembly of God in Delhi.
Frank was a faithful, committed charter member of the Assembly of God of Delhi where he was head usher. He volunteered as an EMT and firefighter for the Andes Fire Department and Emergency Squad.
Surviving are his loving wife Cheryl of Andes; his daughter Julia and Arnie Davis of Bovina Center; his daughter Shirley Norris and fiancé Steven Hall of Meridale; his daughter Christiana Larsen and Michael Troy of Maryland and their mother, Marcella Myers of Otego; his extended family, Dawn and Chris Jones; Anita Hall; Stephanie and Jay Woodbury and Roger Hall. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents; a sister Dorothy Galgano and a grandson, Jeremiah Conger Norris.
A celebration of life took place Tuesday, immediately following the calling hours, at the Assembly of God, Rte. 28, (Meredith Street), Delhi, with Pastor Tom Formica officiating.
Burial will take place in the spring in Andes Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations are asked to be made to the Assembly of God, P.O. Box 411, Delhi, NY 13753, in memory of Frank T. Myers.
Arrangements were by the MacArthur Funeral Home in Delhi.
