Fire Company installation dinner held

The Big Indian-Oliverea Fire Co. Inc. and Ladies’ Auxiliary sponsored its annual Christmas and Installation Dinner at the Alpine Inn in Oliverea on January 11.
Hosts Eric and Edna Griesser and son, Jamie, must be commended for the superb feast they provided.

President George Long welcomed everyone and John Rossitz presented the Invocation. Guest were introduced as well as the commissioners: Chairman Richard Bennett, Brian Kelly, Bill Rudge, Clark Van Etten and newly-elected Gayle Yeomans.

President Long introduced the other House Officers: himself, Vice President Chuck Perez and Secretary/Treasurer Christee Thomas.
Chief Jody Rossitz introduced the Line Officers: himself, Assistant Chief Brian Perez, Captain Christee Thomas, Lieutenant Pete Jubie and Fire Police Captain George Long.

Auxiliary President Jane Rossitz introduced the following officers: herself, Vice President Ann Carol Michelotti, Secretary Martie Gailes and Treasurer Debbie Perez.

Following dinner, Justice Tom Crucet conducted the swearing-in ceremony for all officers and members of both organizations. He also issued the appropriate certificates.
President Long also presented service pins to Brian Perez for 10 years and a 20/Life pins to Derek Stapleton.

Auxiliary President Jane Rossitz presented handwritten appreciation certificates to each member for years of service. These were awarded as follows: Active Life Members – Jane Rossitz, 60 years; Mary Lou Stapleton, 43 years; Kathy Jordan, 40 years; Debra Perez, 32 years; Sharon Bedell, 32 years.

Active Members: Joanne Jubie, one year; Kate Michelotti, one year.
Associate Members: Heidi Clark, 19 years; Naomi Long, 19 years; Peggy Eyberg, 13 years and JoEllen Schermerhorn, four years.
