Eugene M. Finch, 69, of Valrico, Fla., formerly of East Syracuse, died Saturday, May 29, 2010 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Walton on November 10, 1940, the son of David and Delilah Smith Finch.
An employee of Carrier Corporation for 36 years, Gene moved to Charlotte, N.C. in 1997 where he worked for Wachovia Bank for over nine years. In 2007 Gene and his wife retired to Valrico, Florida.
Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Teresa (Gillette) Finch; daughters, Deborah of Camillus, N.Y, and Lorraine of Cary, N.C; a son, Steven and his wife, Tonimarie of Charlotte, N.C.; his sisters, Gertrude Angiolillo of Valrico, Fla. and Bonita Cleveland of Binghamton and a brother, David of Smithtown.
He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Paul and Julian and sisters, Doris Adams and Iris Hitchcock.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, June 5 at 10 a.m. at Andrews Memorial United Methodist Church, 106 Church, North Syracuse with burial following in North Syracuse Cemetery.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday at Fergerson Funeral Home, 215 South Main Street, North Syracuse.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Hospice.
