Edith A. Gilham, 54, of Roxbury, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009 at Albany Medical Center, Albany. She was born Aug. 13, 1955 at Margaretville, the daughter of Winfield and Julia (Mattice) Gilham. A lifelong resident of Roxbury, she graduated from Roxbury Central School in 1973.
Edith had worked as the head cook at Mountainside Residential Care Center in Margaretville and presently had been employed as a medical secretary for the McLaughlin Family Health Center in Roxbury.
She had a great love for her family and enjoyed cooking and reading.
Surviving are two daughters, Kimberly Roe of Roxbury and Ashley and her husband, Robert Schott of Oneonta; sisters, Sharon and Michael Hogan of Roxbury, Ginny Conine and her husband Jerry of Roxbury and Debra Gilham and her companion, Gene Sullenburger of Voorheesville; a brother, William and his wife, Carol Gilham of North Carolina. Also surviving are grandchildren, Austin Roe and Erin Garza.
She was predeceased by her parents and by a sister, Laura and a brother, George.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 28 at the Jay Gould Memorial Reformed Church, Roxbury with the Rev. Richard A. Dykstra officiating.
Burial was in the Roxbury Cemetery.
