Dorothy A. Slauson, 94, a resident of Roxbury, died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013 at Chittenango.
Dorothy was born on April 21, 1918 in Stamford, the daughter of Frederick and Ethel (O’Brien) Ploutz. She married Floyd Slauson Sr. on January 21, 1937 in Roxbury. He died on August 3, 1992.
Dorothy worked for Audio-Sears in Stamford and at the Kirkside Adult Home in Roxbury. Most of her time she spent taking care of her home and family.
She enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, and doing plastic-canvas needlework.
She is survived by her children, Floyd A. Slauson Jr. and his wife Linda, RuthAnn Axtell and her husband Stan, Joan Tweedie and her husband Gary, and Linda Myers and a sister, Hilda Knapp. She is also survived by grandchildren, great grand children and great-great grand children and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by three brothers and one sister.
Calling hours will be held at the Jay Gould Memorial Reformed Church in Roxbury on Thursday, Feb. 28 from10 a.m. until noon.
A funeral service will be held at noon on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013 at the Jay Gould Memorial Reformed Church, Roxbury with the Rev. Richard Dykstra, officiating.
A committal services will follow at the Roxbury Cemetery.
