Dell, Brown show coming to Hanah

Margaretville — Come and hear the songs of Rosemary Clooney, Doris Day, Peggy Lee and others! A musical treat awaits you on Saturday, Dec. 15, as cabaret duo Patricia Dell and Kent Brown present some musical treasures at Hanah Mountain Resort & Country Club, 576 West Hubbell Hill Road, Margaretville.

The evening begins at 6 p.m. with appetizers followed by a dinner buffet, dessert and coffee bar. Dell and Brown will entertain throughout the evening. The cost per person is $39 and for couples, $70. For reservations, call 586-4849 by December 8.

Dell and Brown, a popular duo throughout the Central Catskills, will present “Music! Music! Music! A Tribute to the Ladies of the 1950s.”

“Kent and I have a mutual love affair with the magnificent repertoire of American music and the ladies who made these songs popular,” says Dell. “People love the intimacy and storytelling of these great melodies, and cabaret, with its cozy theatricality, is an ideal setting to hear them again,” said Brown. “We found that people of all ages have been missing this music as much as we had.”
When serendipity struck and Dell and Brown discovered how much they both loved musical classics, cabaret provided the perfect setting to share that encyclopedic repertoire.

“When we perform, we’re not only having a blast, we also feel deeply privileged to be able to give this music to our audiences,” says Brown.

Their playful, relaxed banter on stage is, like their music, the happy result of years of audience interaction and studying their craft. Dell hails from a versatile theatrical background — from the rigors of the recital hall to hoofing it on musical theater stages. She’s brought many of the great divas to life, including Mame Dennis of Auntie Mame and Desirée of A Little Night Music.
For Kent Brown, discerning audiences were a fact of life from the tender age of 12, when he became the organist for his church in Iowa Falls, a duty he now fulfills in two upstate churches. He’s also put his Master of Music degree to work, serving as musical director in numerous theatrical productions throughout his corner of the Catskills.

Don’t miss out on a truly magical evening. Be sure to call 586-4849 to make reservations today for “Music! Music! Music! A Tribute to the Ladies of the 1950s” at Hanah Mountain Resort & Country Club.
