Dec. 23, 2009: Expresses regret over doctor leaving

in

To The Editor:
As Chair of the Margaret-ville Hospital Board, and also personally as one of his patients, I want to express regret that Dr. Ravunniarath decided to leave our organization and wish him well in his new job. “Dr. J” is a good doctor who is popular with his patients, so it is particularly unfortunate that we were unable to come to an agreement with him.
The board understands and shares our patients’ desire for high quality health care, including continuity of physicians, we are community members ourselves. We have been working with HealthAlliance, our corporate parent, to assure that our current standard of excellence continues.
HealthAlliance has existed for less than a year and, due to the combined strength of its members, we already have reaped benefits from our association, such as the new digital mammogram machine that was recently installed. We believe we will see even more benefits in the future, in the form of advanced technology, more pleasant facilities (for patients and staff), additional services and specialists and, importantly, a medical staff with the commitment to settle and practice here.
Warm wishes for a healthy new year.

Carey Wagner, Chair
Margaretville Hospital Board
