Congregation Bnai Israel planing summer activities
Fleischmanns — Congregation Bnai Israel is having an exciting summer. New Rabbi, Gerald Friedman, leads a musical Kabbalat Shabbat Friday evenings starting at 7 p.m. On July 19 at 6 p.m., there will be a potluck dinner followed by Friday evening services at 7 p.m. Saturday services start at 9 a.m.
In addition, Rabbi Friedman leads a discussion class and a singing group every Sunday morning.
The next book club meeting will meet on Thursday, Aug. 15. At 2 p.m. Members will be discussing “What We Talk about When We Talk about Anne Frank” by Nathan Englander. All are welcome to come! In addition, on Sunday July 21, at noon, Dora Friedman will lead a class on Israeli Folk Dance in the synagogue. On Thursday August 8, the Women’s Rosh Chodesh study group will meet at 4 p.m. The Rosh Chodesh group welcomes women of all ages to share in study and celebration.
Congregation Bnai Israel, which is over 90 years old and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is renowned for its welcoming, friendly atmosphere.
The Congregation urges anyone in the area who is interested to participate in its religious and cultural activities to please attend one of our many services and activities throughout the summer.
