Community arts funding applications available

Roxbury — The Roxbury Arts Group (RAG) has announced announce that it will again administer the Decentralization Program (Community Arts Funding Program) for 2011. Grants from $500 to $5,000 will be available to not-for-profit organizations and artists in Delaware County. The funds, made available through The New York State Council for the Arts, are for the fostering of continued development of local artistic and cultural resources throughout Delaware County. The awards are regranted through a competitive grant application and peer panel review process.
The money will be available to artists working in collaboration with non-profit organizations, municipalities and to non-profit organizations for cultural programs and projects in the year beginning January 1 through December 31, 2011. Funding requests may be submitted for projects in literature, visual arts, architecture, dance, film, media arts, theatre, folk art, music, etc. The application deadline is October 13, 2010. Ann Epner, the community arts funding coordinator for Delaware County will conduct a series of free application workshops throughout Delaware County that will cover all aspects of the program and answer individual questions applicants may have.
All first-time applicants are required to attend one of the workshops or to make arrangements with Epner for individual meetings. All applicants are strongly urged to attend one of the seminars prior to submitting applications.
