Communities honor veterans and hold street fairs over the busy holiday weekend
Numerous parades and salutes to veterans at war memorials throughout our villages made for a festive holiday weekend. Here are some highlights:

On again, off again rain on Saturday didn’t keep a big crowd from turning out for the Memorial Day Street Fair in Fleischmanns. Main Street was filled with visitors and vendors. Lots of music, and excellent barbecued chicken prepared by the fire department, all added to a successful event.
