By Julia Green
It’s been present in the Catskill Mountains since 1864. It’s changed formats, changed looks, and changed hands. It’s grown with the times, and on Wednesday, it grew on a world-wide scale.

The World Wide Web, that is. The Catskill Mountain News is now online. The Web site, which was officially launched Wednesday, can be found at:

The site, developed by Roxbury resident Cherie Davis of Foamy Industries, features the entire content of the Catskill Mountain News in an easy to understand and navigate layout and is updated every Wednesday.

The content of the Web site will be available free of charge to subscribers and non-subscribers for the month of March; as of April 1, the content of the Web site will be available free of charge to Catskill Mountain News subscribers only.

In addition to the entire content of the weekly newspaper, features an image gallery, events calendar, subscription information, advertising rates, contact and staff information, as well as a link to archived issues of the Catskill Mountain News, which have been microfilmed and digitized by the Historical Society of the Town of Middletown in conjunction with the Catskill Mountain News and Margaretville’s Fairview Public Library.

Subscribers who wish to set up their free accounts may do so by visiting the site and clicking on “Create new account” or by calling the Catskill Mountain News office at 845 586-2601.
