Brophy earns ESF honors


Syracuse — Julia Brophy was inducted on May 1 into The Honor Society of Sigma Lambda Alpha NU Chapter’s 33rd Ceremony of Investitures at the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry (SUNY ESF).

Sigma Lambda Alpha is an international honor society; which promotes scholarship and leadership in landscape architecture. Julia was one of 11 fourth-year Bachelor of Landscape Architecture students to become a new member along with 11 MLA/MSLA graduate students.
In addition, Julia has been selected to be the recipient of the 2013-’14 Walter Tarbox Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship was established to assist deserving students in the Bachelor of Landscape Architecture Program.

Brophy is a graduate and was the Salutatorian of the Margaretville Central School, Class of 2009. She is the daughter of Birgitta and Jeremiah Brophy of Kelly Corners.
