Betty E. Todd Kelly, 77, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2011 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern.
She was born November 28, 1933 in Hardenburgh, the daughter of the late Marshall Ney and Nellie Vredenburgh Todd.
Betty loved many things such as hunting, fishing and gardening but most of all spending time with her family. She was referred to by her grandchildren as the “Epic Grammy.”
Betty retired three times from driving school bus for the Monticello Central School District, Sullivan County Office of the Aging and the Catskill Regional Medical Center Adult Day Care Program. She was an active member of the Monticello United Methodist Church and a member of the former Forestburgh Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a loving mother, grandmother and friend, who will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.
Surviving are her loving children, Kim Stacy and her husband Eugene, Elizabeth Giumarra and her husband George Nevin Sr., James Kelly and his wife JeanAnne; eight grandchildren, Kelly Ann Taggart and her husband Dale, Todd Stacy and his fiancé Christina Ferguson, Marshall, Krysta and Robert Kelly, Erin Giumarra, George Nevin Jr. and Stefanie Boyd. Also surviving are four great-grandchildren, Hunter and William Taggart, Logan Stacy and Vincent DeGraw Jr.
She was predeceased by her husband Elwood Kelly in 2008, sister Ann Archibald and brother William Lincoln Todd.
As per mom’s wishes there will be no viewing. There was a memorial gathering (party) held on Saturday, Oct. 1, at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church Hall, 445 Broadway, Monticello, NY 12701.
Arrangements were under the direction of Colonial Memorial Funeral Home.
