Battle of the Bands headed to Andes
Andes — The Andes ‘Battle of the Bands,’ a music competition with cash prizes, will be held on July 14 at 2 p.m. at the Andes outdoor fire pavilion on Tremperskill Road. Admission is free and barbecue and drinks will be available.
This will be a competitive musical event for youth, open to contestants ranging in age from teen to 25 years old. First prize will be $250, second prize $100, and third prize $50. Winners will be chosen by the audience, so come and root for your favorites.
So far the bands P2 and Avid Rox are scheduled to perform. Do you have a band? Want to perform? Bands must consist of at least two members and two instruments. Entries must be made by June 30 and include name of band, names and ages of performers, and a contact telephone number. The event was inspired by Andes Fire Chief Joe Berghammer who wanted young people to have their own event this summer. The Andes ‘Battle of the Bands’ is sponsored by The Andes Fire Department and Auxiliary, Andes Works!, and with support from The MARK Project.
