Auxiliary donation to purchase equipment

The Auxiliary of Margaretville Hospital and Mountainside Residential Care Center presented a donation of $83,449 to the hospital last week.
The money will be used to pay for the purchase of two key pieces of equipment — a Sonosite Ultrasound and a MUSE electrocardiogram system.
The Sonosite is a handheld ultrasound device used primarily in the Emergency Department. The equipment gives the healthcare provider the ability to visualize soft tissue anatomy and aids in making a rapid decision regarding future imaging or treatment for the patient.
The Muse system is a computerized electrocardiogram (EKG) that allows the provider to view, edit, store and compare EKGs performed on any patient at any of the HealthAlliance hospitals.
Hospital Executive Director Sandy Horan said the purchases are being arranged and the equipment should be in use within the next few months.
“The auxiliary continues to provide an extraordinary amount of fund-raising on behalf of our healthcare campus. We are truly appreciative of the efforts of these loyal volunteers,”she commented.
The auxiliary continues to be a key fund-raiser on behalf of the hospital and Mountainside. A majority of the money presented to the hospital last week was raised from the auxiliary-sponsored Harvest Moon Ball from the past two years.
Auxiliary President Eleanor Aulino presented the donation check to Mrs. Horan.
