Audrey B. Fields, 75, a Florida resident since 1970 and formerly of Clovesville, died Friday, March 21, 2008 at the Baptist Hospital.
She was born June 26, 1933 in Halcott, the daughter of the late Charles and Helen Grant Ballard.
Surviving are her sons, Edward and his wife Diana Bensle and Robert and his wife, Polly Fields both of Jacksonville; daughter, Sandra Bensle of Jacksonville; three sisters, Jean and her husband, Mike McCann of Clovesville, Sue and her husband, Larry Hughson of Kingston and Millie McMullin of California; brother Pete and his wife, Nancy Ballard of Halcott. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and beloved pet dog, Sugar.
She was predeceased by her husbands, Herbert Bensle, Roderick Faulkner and Donald Fields; a daughter, Audrey Joanee Cox, three sisters and a brother.
A service to celebrate the life of Audrey was held on March 27 at the E.B. Gormley Funeral Home, 87 Main Street, Phoenicia with the Rev. Ralph Darmstadt as celebrant.
Pallbearers were Edward Bensle Jr., Zachary L. Higgins, Robert J. Fields Jr., Mike McCann Jr., Mike Ballard and Luther Dukes.
Burial is in the Halcott Center Cemetery.
