Art Et Cetera making a move in Fleischmanns
Fleischmanns — Art Et Cetera has moved to 1033 Main Street in Fleischmanns, centrally located across from the post office and two doors from the Skene Memorial Library. Gallery owners John and Gloria Mulloy want to do their part in the revitalization of Fleischmanns and plan to renovate the entire building which houses the Art Et Cetera gallery and flea market.
The Mulloys are working on the space, preparing for the grand opening which will be held be on Saturday, May 30, from noon to 5 p.m. The initial gallery show entitled Ruckus, will feature the works of diverse artists such as Alfredo Santos, Chris Pelletiere, Jose Acosta, Leung Kai Shion and others. The public is invited to this free event to include live music and refreshments.
The Mulloys will continue to promote the art of former Fleischmanns resident Alfredo Santos, known nationally for the murals he painted on the walls of San Quentin Prison. There is a possibility that Santos may once again visit later in the summer for another personal appearance at Art Et Cetera.
The gallery will also promote local artists and crafts people, and those interested should contact the website, artetcetera.info, or call 254-4998. The Mulloys will have many events over the course of the summer such as art shows, concerts, films, et cetera. Regular hours will be Thursdays-Sundays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
