Armand P. Adelle-Joneau
Armand P. Adelle-Joneau, 74, of Barley Road, Highmount died suddenly at his home on Tuesday October 18, 2011.
He was born October 3, 1937 in Paris, France, son of the late Auguste and Marcelle Bozzi Adelle. Helping out in the family garment business in Paris since the age of 15, Armand has been a world-class clothing pattern maker for such high-end designers as Diana VonFurstenburg and Maggie London in Manhattan.
He and his wife Josette built their home together in Highmount in 1971. Armand was a skilled artist who enjoyed painting with both oils and watercolors. He was a talented guitar player, who also liked to travel and cook.
Surviving are his wife, Josette (Grancher) Adelle-Joneau, a son Stephen of St. Thomas, USVI and a grandson Daniel.
A service to celebrate the life of Armand was held on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011 at the E. B. Gormley Funeral Home, 87 Main Street, Phoenicia. The Rev. Ralph Darmstadt was the celebrant.
