Arkville Fire Department publishes annual report

The Arkville Fire Department recently published its 2008 annual report, which stated that the department responded to a total of 70 fire and emergency calls over the course of the year.
The categorical breakdown for those emergency calls is as follows: 25 Emergency Medical Services calls; four automatic alarms calls; seven mutual aid to scene calls; two mutual aid to stand-by calls; three structure fires; four motor vehicle accidents; one car fire; two smoke investigations; five electrical fires; nine hazardous conditions calls; four service calls; two gas leaks; and two rescue calls.
Robert Sweeney serves as fire chief of the Arkville Fire Department, and Noel Amundsen and Tom Roberts serve as first and second assistant chief, respectively. Other officers within the Arkville Fire Department are: Israel Rivera, captain; Jim Beers, lieutenant; Frank Andreisson, fire police chief and vice president; Andy Straut, safety officer; Connie Spielman, infection control officer; Kyle Holden, president; Charlene Bode, secretary; and JR Lawrence, treasurer.
