Area Police News: November 27, 2013

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies issued a criminal summons on November 25 to Madeline Minervini, 51, of New Kingston on a charge of second-degree aggravated harassment. It is alleged that Minervini made numerous harassing phone calls to another person after being requested to stop.
Minervini is to appear at the Middletown Court on December 5 to answer the charge.

John Candelaria, 52, of Grand Gorge was arrested by state police on November 22 and charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance after he was stopped on Route 30 in Roxbury for a traffic violation.
Police say a search of his vehicle yielded a quantity of suspected heroin and more than $1,000 in cash.
He was remanded to the county jail to await further court action.

Thomas Neff, 80, of Stamford was arrested by state police on November 20 and charged with DWI after he was stopped on Main Street in Stamford driving a tractor.
Police say they stopped Neff who was known to them as a person with a suspended license and he was charged when his blood alcohol level allegedly tested .09 percent. In addition to DWI he was also charged with first-degree felony aggravated unlicensed operation.
He was arraigned in Stamford Court and remanded to the county jail in lieu of $1,500 cash bail to await further court action.
