Area Police News: November 2, 2011

Michael R. Sheremetta, 31, of Kerhonkson was arrested by state police on October 25 on a bench warrant issued by the Town of Middletown Justice Court for failure to appear/pay a traffic violation. He was arraigned in Town of Roxbury Justice Court and remanded to the county jail in lieu of $750 cash bail to reappear in Middletown Justice Court at a later date.

Two local men face charges after they were arrested in Fleischmanns following a fight on Main Street. Police say Vanetten C. Ackerley, 22, of Margaretville and Edward J. Vitale, 22, of Highmount were wrestling next to LaCabana Restaurant when they arrived.
Police say both men were drinking in the restaurant when Vitale went outside and began kicking and damaging several vehicles.
Police say Ackerley was charged with disorderly conduct while Vitale was charged with vandalism.
Both men were arraigned in Town of Middletown Justice Court. Vitale was remanded to the county jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail. Ackerley was released to reappear at a later date.

Drew D. Sylvester, 19, of Andes was arrested by state police on October 27 and charged with DWI drugs after he was stopped on Route 28 in Margaretville for inadequate headlights.
He was issued an appearance ticket returnable in town court on November 7.
