Area Police News: May 9, 2012

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Marcus L. Robinson Sr., 38, of Delhi on May 1 for third-degree assault, criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, and endangering the welfare of a child.
Robinson was arraigned in Delhi Town Court and released to appear at a later date. The charges stemmed from a domestic dispute between Robinson and his 14-year-old stepdaughter. It is alleged that Robinson pushed the minor child down and she attempted to go into the kitchen area where Robinson then followed her and grabbed her around the throat with his hands and started choking her. Robinson then allegedly grabbed her by the hair and threw her over a bed. The 14-year-old child sustained minor injuries to her neck area.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating the theft of a black 1991 Yamaha Banshee 350 All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) from Falls Mills Road, Delhi, on Friday, April 27.  The ATV is black with a red exhaust system.
Deputies are asking anyone that may have information concerning the theft, or current whereabouts, of this ATV to contact the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office at 607 746-2336.

Brian J. VanKeuren, 35, of Stamford was arrested by state police on May 2 and charged with second-degree harassment following an altercation in the Wooden Nickel Restaurant in Stamford during which he allegedly threw coffee in another man’s face.
VanKeuren was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Town of Stamford Justice Court on May 8.

Marc Cicerone, 32, of Stamford was arrested by state police on May 2 and charged with petit larceny after he allegedly stole a bag of tobacco from the Country Store in Stamford.
Cicerone was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Town of Harpersfield Justice Court on May 28 at 7 p.m.

Jason B. Briggs, 34, of Hobart was arrested by state police on May 6 and charged with first-degree criminal contempt, second-degree aggravated harassment, and second-degree harassment after he allegedly harassed and them threatened to kill a Stamford woman.
Briggs was arraigned in Town of Stamford Justice Court and released on $1,000 cash bail to await further court action on May 22 at 6 p.m.

Malissa M. Post, 38, of Grand Gorge was arrested by state police on May 6 and charged with DWI after she was stopped on Route 30 in Roxbury for a traffic violation.
Police say they also charged Post with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, refusal of breath screen, and driving with no headlights.
She was arraigned in Town of Middletown Justice Court and released to reappear at a later date.

Jacqueline S. Jasowak, 55, of Denver was arrested by state police on May 6 on a bench warrant issued by the Town of Shandaken Justice Court charging her with writing a bad check. She was turned over to Shandaken Police for arraignment.

Andrew W. Defilippo, 46, of Jefferson was arrested by state police on May 4 and charged with DWI after he was stopped on Route 23 in Davenport for a traffic violation.
Police say they charged Defilippo when his blood alcohol content allegedly tested .17 percent.
He was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Town of Davenport Justice Court on May 22 at 1 p.m.
