Area Police News: May 5, 2010

The Delaware County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a burglary that took place on the Barkaboom Road in the Town of Andes that occurred some time between April 11 and April 24.
The residence was ransacked and had numerous valuables stolen. The property stolen included a 17-inch LG brand flat screen television, a Dell laptop computer, a Nikon digital camera, silver flatware, silver serving utensils, assorted costume jewelry, a Brink’s storage safe and 20 silver ingots weighing 10 troy ounces each.  The silver ingots were identified as being Pan American Silver Corp. (Northwest Territorial Mint) and Wall Street Mint brands.
Anyone with information pertaining to the incident or the whereabouts of the stolen property is asked to call the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office at 607 746-2336. 
Dawn M. Hayden, 21, of Arkville was arrested by state police Thursday and charged with first-degree criminal contempt and second-degree harassment following a domestic dispute with her ex-husband.
Police say Hayden went to her ex-husband’s home, in violation of an order of protection, engaged in an argument with him and scratched his face.
Hayden was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Town of Roxbury Justice Court.
Brett D. Trombley, 20, of Margaretville was arrested Friday by state police and charged with driving with a suspended license.
Police say they stopped Trombley on Route 28 in Arkville for a traffic violation. He was arraigned in Town of Middletown Justice Court and released to reappear at a later date.
Matthew A. Savory, 28, of Stamford was arrested by state police Thursday and charged with DWI after he was stopped on Harper Street in Stamford for speeding.
Police say they charged Savory when his blood alcohol level allegedly tested .12 percent.
Savory was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Village of Stamford Justice Court on May 19.
Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Erik S. Peterson, 28, of Delhi on May 1 for DWI, failure to keep right, having an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle and refusal to take a breath test.
The arrest happened as deputies were directing traffic around a disabled vehicle on Route 28 in the Town of Meredith. Peterson was traveling north and allegedly failed to slow down.
Peterson was arraigned in Town of Delhi Town Court and released on $200 cash bail. He is to return to court at a later date.
